In 2016, Morristown Medical Center marks 124 years of serving the northern New Jersey community, setting high standards for patient care with a full range of medical specialties and services.
Part of Atlantic Health System, Morristown Medical Center is the only hospital in New Jersey to be recognized in 2016 as one of 'America's 50 Best Hospitals' by consumer health care ratings group Healthgrades®. It has also been nationally ranked in the top 50 for cardiology and heart surgery and orthopedics by U.S. News & World Report, which also named it one of the top New York metropolitan area hospitals and recognized these high performing specialties: gastroenterology and GI surgery, geriatrics, gynecology, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, pulmonology and urology.
Designated a Level I Regional Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons and a Level II by the state, Morristown Medical is also a Magnet Hospital for Excellence in Nursing Service, the highest level of recognition by the American Nurses Credentialing Center for facilities that provide acute care services. Our cardiac surgery center is the largest in the state, and the Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute offers patients a complete spectrum of heart and vascular care. Sam’s NICU, our Level III Regional Perinatal Center, provides specialized care to sick or premature infants, and Goryeb Children’s Hospital has more than 100 pediatric specialists caring for patients in a child-centered environment. Our mission at Carol G. Simon Cancer Center, where we treat all types of cancer with the most advanced methods, is to provide comprehensive, compassionate and individualized service. We are also home to the Offray Arthritis Center.
