In 2013, Morristown Medical Center marks 121 years of serving the northern New Jersey community, setting high standards for patient care with a full range of medical specialties and services.
Part of Atlantic Health System, Morristown Medical Center has been nationally ranked for cardiology, heart surgery and gynecology by U.S. News & World Report, which also deemed it the best regional hospital in nine specialties: cancer, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology, geriatrics, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, pulmonology and urology. The medical center has also received the Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence and the Patient Safety Excellence Award from independent researcher HealthGrades three years in a row.
Designated a Level I Regional Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons and a Level II by the state, Morristown Medical is also a Magnet Hospital for Excellence in Nursing Service, the highest level of recognition by the American Nurses Credentialing Center for facilities that provide acute care services. Our cardiac surgery center is the largest in the state, and the Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute offers patients a complete spectrum of heart and vascular care. Sam’s NICU, our Level III Regional Perinatal Center, provides specialized care to sick or premature infants, and Goryeb Children’s Hospital has more than 100 pediatric specialists caring for patients in a child-centered environment. Our mission at Carol G. Simon Cancer Center, where we treat all types of cancer with the most advanced methods, is to provide comprehensive, compassionate and individualized service.
