The IBD Center is the largest in New Jersey and has been involved in the care of more than 500 children and adolescents with IBD. A multidisciplinary team of physicians, surgeons, nurses, nutritionists, and social workers provide comprehensive medical care, nutritional counseling, and emotional support for children and adolescents with IBD. Nationally recognized for treating pediatric IBD, the center offers patients access to the latest research and clinical trials. Locally, this recognition has resulted in a marked increase of referrals by pediatric gastroenterologists in the Tri-State Area. Doctors are sending their complex IBD patients for additional medical and surgical opinions and intervention. To satisfy this growing patient population and continue the quality of care delivered by the center, it has become evident to hospital leadership that the IBD Center must be expanded.
