The Employee Basket Raffle on March 8, 2010, featured 128 ‘baskets,’ offering everything from gift cards, gourmet foods and coffees to a flat screen TV and a baby stroller overflowing with parenting essentials. The event raised over $14,000, which was matched by the Health Foundation, yielding $28,000 to benefit the hospital’s Palliative Care team. Palliative Care professionals assist terminal patients and their families by providing medical treatment, pain management and spiritual and psycho-social support.
