Over 120 hospital volunteers were thanked at the 4th Annual Spring Fling Luncheon on March 1, 2010, sponsored by the Volunteer Services Department and the Health Foundation. William D. Bruen, Jr., Heath Foundation board member and Brookfield Society Advisory Council chair, shared tidbits of the hospital’s rich past, including stories of Myra Brookfield, the hospital’s first planned gift benefactor from the 1800s. Morristown Memorial is certainly beholden to its team of dedicated volunteers. Last year, its 1,100 volunteers devoted 135,000 hours, saving the hospital approximately $3,304,800.
